Deutschland 83

Audience Demographic: ABC1- The class of the audience would be upper/middle class, possibly some working class viewers. This is due to the German language and English subtitles, this demographic would have intelligence and be aware of the Cold War. Additionally, to find Deutschland 83 on All 4, you must be looking for it as it is rarely promoted. Psychographic: The psychographic audience that may watch Deutschland 83 would be those who possibly have their own opinions and interests in the Cold War, those who do not mind international TV and those who enjoy spy thrillers. This may affect the content of the text as the producers (Sundance TV) may feel as though it is necessary to make the programme more complex to suit the watchers intelligence. As Deutschland 83 is an international long form TV drama it may limit the amount of promotion from channel 4 as it has been shown in other countries. Channel 4 has more of a niche audience (especially compared to Netflix) and therefore will

Todorov's theory of narralology: Todorov suggested that conventional narratives are structured in 5 stages: 1. equilibrium 2. disruption of the equilibrium 3. recognition of the disruption 4. attempt to repair the damage 5. new equilibrium (however will never return to being exactly the same as the original equilibrium) This type of narrative structure is very familiar to us and can be applied to many 'mainstream' film/TV narratives Plot: sequence of events, what the reader observes. The Cold War

Cold War 1947-1991 During World War II, the United States and the Soviet Union fought together as allies against the Axis powers. The relationship between the two nations was, however tense.  The Cold War was waged on political, economic, and  propaganda  fronts and had only limited recourse to weapons. Following the surrender of  Nazi   Germany  in May 1945 near the close of  World War II , the uneasy wartime alliance between the United States and Great  Britain  on the one hand and the Soviet Union on the other began to unravel. By 1948 the Soviets had installed left-wing governments in the countries of eastern Europe that had been liberated by the  Red Army . The Americans and the British feared the permanent Soviet domination of eastern Europe and the threat of Soviet-influenced communist parties coming to power in the  democracies  of western Europe. The Soviets, on the other hand, were determined to maintain control of eastern Europe in order to safeguard against any possible r

Stranger Things analysis

In stranger things, age is stereotyped, the children are the innocent, vulnerable characters who end up the protagonists, the children are the main characters of the show, one child is in distress and needs help, and the other children try to help as the police struggle to find him. The teenager in these clips was typically in her room, on the phone, dating and then rudely slams the door in her brothers friends face. The teenager has a smaller role in the program than the kids, however, still has a main part, more so than some of the adults. The parents seem to be the 'kill joy' generation, the mother interrupts the campaign and disrupt the children's fun. The parents of the show do not have a significant role, (other than mikes mother and the sheriff) this may be because the show is based on children and as the generations get older the roles become less important to the show and the audience. When the mother is standing at the top of the stairs, and Mike is standing at

Jungle Book 2016 Homework questions

1) How did Disney successfully use  cross-media  promotion as part of The Jungle Book’s marketing campaign? Cross-promotion is a form of marketing promotion where customers of one product or service are targeted with promotion of another/ related product. Favreau was aware of the inter-relationship between the making of a film and its promotion. Disney used synergy, persuading other companies to tie in with their films release, increasing marketing. Disney also used many other marketing strategies for The Jungle Book 2016. Including social media. JB16 had pages dedicated to the film on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and a snapchat filter for extra publicity. Disney used cross-promotion with many companies, for example; as well as the Disney store offering merchandise, the designer Kenzo produced a range of clothing to mark the new film, however featuring designs of the original film.
