Close the loop copy evaluation
Our group completed this film with some organisations skills, we could have been more organised with when we were filming, and the props we used. Some of the locations we used were improvised and could have been planned for a more accurate representation of the close the loop video. The clips were distributed evenly between the group and some were filmed in class as well as outside of school. The editing and audio were sorted out as a group whilst we were together so we all had equal input on how the video should look at the end. We used our phones to record the clips which did not necessary have the best quality, if we were to do it again we would use a camera to up the quality of the video. We would also film all the clips landscape rather than portrait if we were to film it again so all the clips match the original close the loop video. Our group were quite creative and imaginative with the shots and the props to match the original video as close as possible. For example; the, 'stand out blend in' shots were filmed with feather scarfs as opposed to suits, the clothing is still different, but we could not match the video exactly as we were unable to get enough people with suits to be in the shot. The idea that they are all looking at their phones adds to the 'blend in' element of the shot as they are all then blending in with each others habits as well as clothing, adding extra meaning to the shots. This video is successful as a first draft but definitely needs improvements to fit the close the loop video as their are too many errors to match with the original. In my previous blog post I analysed our shots next to the original shots and identified the errors that we would need to improve upon if we were to further improve our video. For the next project, a call sheet and plan would need to be made in more detail to be more organised with the filming. The shots would need to be analysed before copied so shots that are portrait would be filmed portrait, similarly, if a shot was filmed at a low-angle, it should be copied at a low-angle to match the original as close as possible.
