preliminary production evaluation
The close the loop video was filmed landscape behind a wall with different shades of colour, the background is quite plain which may have been used to draw all the attention towards to message on the sign and the man. This is why the copy was filmed in a plain background, to match the message of the original video, however the location is not correctly matched.
The copied video was videoed portrait when it should have been videoed landscape, to match the original. However, it doesn't seem as though there was a specific reason the video was filmed landscape as opposed to portrait. The facial expressions of each of the men are slightly different as the original was filmed with a worried facial expression on the man, whereas the copy was filmed with a different facial expression as it was uncontrollable. The lighting is not obviously different however, the lighting of the original is focused on the man's face which is different to the copy as his face looks dark as though it is in the shadows. The outfits were matched as closely as possible, although a flannel shirt will have matched the original more closely. The sign was made for the copy shot to match the original which had 'etegini giy taksime gel'.
The brown shoes shot should have been shot landscape to match the original and should have been shot in the dark to match the lighting of the original shot which was obviously shot at night time. The background of each are slightly different, as well as the angle they were shot, the copy should have been shot with no socks and bare ankles.
As the person was getting out of a car rather than just stepping onto a kirb, as this makes the angle of the person stepping onto the kirb slightly out.
This shot should have again been filmed landscape, with a car behind in the dark. The backgrounds in each of the shots are different, the original was shot in a street in the dark with quite a natural everyday background, whereas the copy almost seems forced. The angles of the shots don't quite match as the original is shot at a slightly low-angle and the copy was shot from a straight angle. The accessories in the shot are also different, the outfit and umbrella is different.
The original shot was shot completely out of focus at this point as the man was moving towards the camera, the shot then focuses when the mean moves closer to the camera with his face directly facing the camera. The copy shot was filmed in focus at all times and portrait which does not match the original video. The copy being in portrait means the shot is a medium shot, whereas the original is only a close up shot showing only above the shoulders. To be critical, the umbrella was held at the wrong angle in the copy video so it does not quite match, the original shows the umbrella at a slight angle but so it still looks fairly straight, whereas the copy is held at a steep angle so it is almost fully behind the person.
