Preliminary Production Stage

Statement Of Intent:
For my Fair Trade clothing brand, 'peace clothing' I intend to create marketing campaigns to show the Fair Trade ideologies of the products, my brand would also include extra advertisements emphasising that the brand positively differs from others by being Fair Trade. My brand will firstly feature two billboard posters with different models in slightly different locations, linking to the main appeal of the brand, being Fair Trade. Each of my models will be wearing much different clothing to show the range of products the brand has to offer. The models would hopefully have different expressions on their faces, one serious facial expression to focus purely on the clothes and the fashion element of the brand. The other model would be naturally laughing, to cover the Fair Trade side to the brand, showing that the clothing causes no harm, keeping everyone happy. The brand should aim to be fashionable and trendy so it appeals to the youth who follow fashion and the new trends, however not necessarily mainstream to offer an extra appeal/originality to the brand. I shall attempt to convey all these messages through the portrait images taken in the beauty of the natural environment, emphasising the friendly, fair cotton used to make the clothes.
The posters could appear in many different locations such as; a bus stop, the sides of buses, billboards, in shopping centers etc.
The Audience I aim to cater for are ages 17-30 because the clothing is fashionable for different ages as there are plenty of clothing rages for all suitable ages. The demographic categories most suitable for the brand are AB because the brand may be more expensive than some mainstream brands as the production of the clothing would cost more. I will use young models for the advertising posters, as more people would then see the clothing as 'in fashion' and recent. I am using models who in everyday life are fashion conscious to help influence the audience to care what they wear and understand that the quality of the brand is high end.
I intend to give the audience what they want, the brad contains some of the same advantages of other high street brands such as; Topshop, Zara, New Look etc. Although the quality of the products are much higher and have a additional unique quality to the products, meaning people know what they are buying, knowing they would not be harming the environment and the people in it. The logo, slogan, brand name and posters all highlight the Fair Trade cotton used which is the main message to give to the audience.
The production of the products would be handmade with the cotton sourced in different areas to increase the chances of forming a branch brand, cotton factories may be made and would have outstanding working conditions with a positive atmosphere ensured by the company as opposed to conditions other multinational companies may use in their factories.
The clothes would be affordable, however a profit should essentially still be made. New styles and product lines would be developed as the brand moves forward, to keep the audience interested and keep purchasing the new products. To help profit the company, new customers would be found somehow (campaigns, leaflets etc) to help grow the business and brand. Price discounts would be used regularly as well as promotions to increase your customers base (for example: happy hour deals - 2 for the price of 1 etc) Furthermore, the use of retail displays to increase the amount of sales.

The logo I created has a relevance to Fair Trade as the leaf resembles the natural trade of the brand. The name of the brand 'peace clothing' emphasises the brand causes no harm to anyone or thing, that the brand is about peace. The slogan 'Fair with Fashion' just further emphasises the importance that the brand is Fair Trade, and the importance of the environment and the people in it. The colour of the logo should stand out from the rest of the picture or item of clothing as it contrasts the colours of most of the products. The font choices used for 'peace clothing' were used because it seems as though the font flows with the leaf, that it is elegant but simple. The 'Fair With Fashion' slogan is a slightly different font, being more up right and clear, giving a serious effect, showing that it really means something and is significant to the brand.
