In stranger things, age is stereotyped, the children are the innocent, vulnerable characters who end up the protagonists, the children are the main characters of the show, one child is in distress and needs help, and the other children try to help as the police struggle to find him. The teenager in these clips was typically in her room, on the phone, dating and then rudely slams the door in her brothers friends face. The teenager has a smaller role in the program than the kids, however, still has a main part, more so than some of the adults. The parents seem to be the 'kill joy' generation, the mother interrupts the campaign and disrupt the children's fun. The parents of the show do not have a significant role, (other than mikes mother and the sheriff) this may be because the show is based on children and as the generations get older the roles become less important to the show and the audience.
